President’s Message

Hi Folks,

I have come to the conclusion that this year I will no longer be able to
perform the duties required to be President of NEWDA.
I would like you all to know that I have enjoyed serving as your president
this past year.
I would like to thank all the people that have come forward to help out and
all the folks that have been a part of NEWDA.
It has been a great run for a wonderful organization. I personally will have
a lifetime of wonderful memories.
Thank you for allowing me to serve as your president and for just being a
part of NEWDA.

Dancing With Dick

June 2nd Annual Meeting and Dance

Election of Officers took place at our annual meeting and the newly elected officers are listed under contact information.  You will not notice any change as the existing members were re-elected to the same positions.  If anyone wants to help out the positions of 1st VP and 2nd VP are open.  Dick Demarest and all the other officers would be very grateful for the help.

A treasurer’s report was given and we are in the black this year.  This is much better than last year when we lost money.  So a big thanks to our members for everything they do to help out including bringing the desserts and raffles which keeps down the cost.

Pizza and salad started off the evening and dessert came later.  Michael Silva was our DJ and Paula Frohn taught The Choice a nightclub 2step.  http://www.bigdavegastap.com/TheChoice.rtf

Thank you to Paula Bonin for the pictures below. You can click on the pictures to enlarge them.

April 21st dance in the Victorian Room in Thomaston

The room was beautiful and the wooden floor was great.

Our DJ Aaron DeMarest enjoyed playing requests and resisted sitting on the sofas and arm chairs available at that end of the room.

Sharon Haggart taught “Walking Away” ,  Choreographer by Rachael McEnaney to Alan Jackson’s “As She’s Walking Away”.  Please click on link below to get the step sheet.

A great dance on April 7th with lots of smiling faces.

Thank you Millie Gagne for teaching “Marry You” choreographed by Rosie Multari to music by Bruno Mars.

It was easy to learn and fun to dance.

Although their table may suggest what sparked them to do “The Macarena”

March 17th Dance

Wow, there were more members at this dance than there have been for a long time.  Thanks to all who came and danced to Mike Germon’s music.    For those paying attention to the photo….no those are not Mike’s crutches, they belong to Dan (look back under “Sunshine” for more info).

As always a big THANKS to Nicole for the decorations on our St. Patrick’s Day theme.  The color green was prevalent throughout the night.

You can see all different shades of green on the dancers.

As always a big Thank You to all who donated to the refreshment table and helped serve the goodies.

With another Thank You to Margaret P., Sharon P., Carol Z and Paula B. for donating to the raffle.

The club could not run as smoothly without all the help from it’s members.

Last but not least another Thank You to Bernie Licki for teaching “Boy, Oh Boy”,  choreographed by Lynne Martino & Jamie Marshall.  Here is the link to the step sheet. http://www.copperknob.co.uk/stepsheets/boy-oh-boy-ID83053.aspx
